Borno State Governor, Babagana Umara Zulum, has urged the African Development Bank (AFDB), to expedite the implementation of the Inclusive Basic Service Delivery and Livelihood Empowerment Integrated Project (IBSDLEIP) in the state.
The governor embarked on a pivotal visit to the AfDB office in Abuja, yesterday, said the call if urgently adhered to, will assist the people of the state.
The IBSDLEIP initiative, a multi-sectoral program, underscores the Nigerian Government’s commitment to addressing the challenges posed by the northeast states’ transition, recovery, and peace restoration efforts in the wake of insurgency.
With a focus on enhancing the quality of life for the marginalized, the project targets improved access to essential social services such as water, sanitation, hygiene, health, and education.

The trumpet gathered that, it also aims to revive livelihoods and fortify food security in regions impacted by insurgent activities.
During his engagement at the AfDB office, Governor Zulum emphasized the urgency of expediting the project’s implementation, particularly in augmenting water supply, education, and livelihood support initiatives.
In a bid to enhance efficiency and reduce operational costs, Governor Zulum proposed the adoption of intelligent energy solutions to convert conventional boreholes powered by generators in Maiduguri and its environs to hybrid systems.
The visit, as learnt by our correspondent, underscores the concerted efforts of the Borno State Government to leverage partnerships and secure support for sustainable development initiatives aimed at transforming the lives of its citizens.
