Former Big Brother Naija Season 11 housemate, Nomy, has spoken about her controversial exit from the reality show, claiming that she was disqualified despite having only one strike.
Nomy made the claim during an interview on the With Chude podcast, where she described her experience in the BBNaija house as traumatic and maintained that she was unfairly removed from the competition. Nomy Speaks About Her Disqualification
Nomy said she was surprised by the decision to revoke her participation, arguing that contestants are generally expected to accumulate three strikes before disqualification.
“I don’t know who GehGeh or Peller are, never heard of them before. My experiences in the Big Brother house traumatised me. I was unjustly disqualified,” Nomy said.
She added that she had only received one strike before Big Brother ended her participation in the competition.
“Normally, what makes people leave the house is disqualification, and to get that you need three strikes. I was on one,” she said.
However, official BBNaija records show that Nomy received a strike on August 9 after Big Brother found her guilty of repeatedly defying his instructions. Big Brother described the sanction as her “last and final warning.”
She was subsequently disqualified on September 7 after another breach involving the conditions of a benchwarmer punishment. Big Brother said she had repeatedly failed to comply with his instructions and revoked her privilege to participate in the show.
Nomy Describes Her BBNaija Experience
Reflecting on her time in the reality show, Nomy described herself as being in “enemy territory” and acknowledged the negative perception surrounding her personality among some viewers.
“I was in the enemy territory, and even though I’m the villain of this season, I’m still the main character,” she said.
Nomy also suggested that her removal was unusual in BBNaija history, describing it as the first time she had seen a contestant’s participation “revoked” in such circumstances.
Her comments have renewed attention on disciplinary measures used by Big Brother and the circumstances surrounding her exit from the Show Ya Sef edition.
What Led to Nomy’s Disqualification?
Before her exit, Nomy had been assigned a benchwarmer punishment after her performance in a Head of House challenge.
According to BBNaija, she was required to remain on a designated bench and wear a specified vest. Big Brother later confronted her after she left the bench and abandoned the vest.
The official explanation for her removal was repeated defiance of Big Brother’s instructions. She was given 30 minutes to pack her belongings and leave the house.
Nomy therefore became the first housemate to be disqualified from the Season 11 Show Ya Sef edition.
Her latest comments have sparked fresh discussion among BBNaija viewers about whether a housemate can be disqualified after receiving only one formal strike and how Big Brother’s disciplinary powers are applied. For more updates, follow us on X.
