The Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, has emphasized the importance of tapping into the state’s rich cultural heritage, to mould a new generation equipped with the skills, knowledge, and resilience needed for the challenges of the 21st century. He made this known during the inauguration of the Bauchi State Education Summit.
The summit which was held at Sultan Saad Abubakar Hajj Bauchi, is themed “Nurturing a Flourishing Future: Improving Access and Quality Education in Bauchi State.”
Bala assured participants that his administration is steadfast in advancing education, aligning policies with a shared dedication to shaping a brighter future for citizens.
Highlighting the summit’s timeliness, Bala underscored its alignment with his strategic plan for the education sector.
He expressed his moral and constitutional duty to ensure every child in Bauchi state has access to quality education, addressing multifaceted dimensions of education during the summit.
“The discussions at the summit will explore avenues for improving infrastructure, enhancing teacher training, embracing technology, and addressing socioeconomic factors hindering education access. ”

The Governor emphasized the intricacies of challenges in Nigeria’s education sector and highlighted the establishment of the Ministry of Higher Education as a step toward overcoming obstacles and fostering collaboration between Bauchi State and sister states.
Outlining the summit’s objectives, Governor Bala stated it would conduct a comprehensive assessment of education in Bauchi state, including out-of-school children, demographics, and the impact of various challenges.
The summit aims to develop evidence-based programs, policies, and strategies to address these challenges, strengthening existing efforts and devising innovative strategies for creating conducive learning environments, including school repairs and revitalization.
Expressing optimism about fruitful deliberations, Bala appreciated the active participation of stakeholders, signifying a collective effort to propel Bauchi state’s education system forward.
