The Ministry of Aviation and Aerospace Development and the Nigeria Air Force have set up a committee on the hosting of the maiden Nigeria International Air Show slated for December 2025.
A statement released today by the ministry’s Head of Publicity, Odutayo Oluseyi, said that this during a courtesy visit to the air force, by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Ibrahim Kana.
Kana explained that the visit was to further extend hands of collaboration with the air force to ensure a successful hosting of the air show.
While stating that air shows around the world comprise both civil and military, Kana appealed to the chief of air staff to deploy his wealth of knowledge and platforms of the air force to ensure the committee delivers its mandate accurately and on time.
He enumerated the following key areas expected from the air force to include, spectacular air display to showcase Nigeria’s air power and perform a ceremonial parade for the president and visiting government delegations.
Kana further invited the chief of air staff to a meeting with all ambassadors to Nigeria, which is being facilitated by the foreign affairs minister.
He disclosed that the ministry has successfully held meetings with foreign airline operators and other stakeholders who have pledged their full cooperation.
The permanent secretary charged the committee to decide on the appropriate venue for the event and bring on board other stakeholders.
Similarly, it was decided that the exhibition would include world-leading civil and defence aviation companies, where they would display their goods and services.

It is hoped that the event would serve as a platform for business transactions, which would not only boost Nigeria’s economy but culture and tourism.
Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Hassan Abubakar, said the air force is equipped with capable hands that can handle the Nigerian Air Show.
He stated that air force is happy to collaborate with the Ministry of Aviation and Aerospace Development, declaring that the first ever Nigeria Air Show is a national event that will bring honour to the country and enhance the nation’s economic viability.
While thanking Kana for the visit, Air Marshal Abubakar tasked the committee to swing into action and promised to give the committee all the necessary support.
