Arsenal have continued their raid on Manchester City players after securing Gabriel Jesus and have now reached a verbal agreement in principle to sign Oleksandr Zinchenko.
Reports from England reveal that the North London club having agreed on £30m for the 25-year-old defender, who moved to Etihad Stadium from Ufa in 2016, are already discussing personal terms.
City signed Zinchenko for £1.7m and sent him on loan to PSV Eindhoven where he made 17 appearances and provided 4 assists to complement Boeren’s third place finish in the 2016-17 season under former head coach, Phillip Cocu. The Trumpet Gathered
Following his return from loan, he made 14 appearances for Guardiola in 2017-28 season and grew the numbers in the next four seasons where he made at least 25 appearances and netted two times coupled with 12 assists.
According to transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano on Saturday, Arsenal and Man City ‘have now reached a verbal agreement in principle’ for Zinchenko.
He added that the fee is ‘around £30m’ with personal terms still being ‘discussed’.
The ‘salary and length of contract’ is understood to be the next ‘key step to complete the agreement’.
Meanwhile, Gunners’ technical director is set to break his transfer vow if Zinchenko moves to the Emirates Stadium, a report from England claims.

According to the report, last season Arsenal spent about £150m in the transfer window to bring in six
‘freshers’ to add depth to Mikel Arteta’s squad. Subsequently, Edu in April, probably convinced with the depth of the squad, said Arsenal will not sign more than two players in this summer transfer window but the reverse is set to be the case should the Ukrainian complete his move to the North London club.
“The budget we used last summer, we prefer to use it to rebalance the squad, there was no point in hiring one or two players,” Edu told ESPN in April.
“The squad was not prepared to absorb two players, we needed to
rebalance the squad.
“Maybe next season we can go to one or two players. Today we find a much more balanced squad,” he added.
Since Zinchenko started his professional football career in FK Ufa II, he has made 192 appearances coupled with 31 assists while netting 5 goals.
He made his debut for the Ukraine’s senior men’s national football team in October 2015 and has netted 8 times from 52 caps.
