Police in Adamawa State, said they have successfully apprehended the armed robbers responsible for the recent attack on Mohammed Abubakar Sadiq Wali, Commissioner for Environment and Natural Resources Development.
The commissioner was assaulted at his residence on Chiroma Street in Yola on Sunday night, where the perpetrators stole his Toyota Hilux vehicle and other valuables after inflicting injuries.
According to a press release issued by Police Public Relations Officer, Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, the Adamawa State Police Command’s operational strategy to combat criminal activities has yielded positive results, leading to the arrest of a syndicate of four individuals.
The suspects, Mustapha Muhammed, Isa Adamu, Salihu Buhari, and Abdullahi Abubakar, were apprehended on February 12, 2024, by a combined team of police operatives attached to Girei Divisional Police Headquarters.
All stolen items, including the Toyota Hilux, Beretta Pistol, live ammunition, anti-trackers, handsets, and foreign currency, according to the police, were successfully recovered.
Adding that, the suspects will face prosecution in accordance with the law.

Meanwhile, Adamawa State Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has alleged that certain individuals in the state are sponsoring criminal activities aimed at disrupting peace.
In a statement released by his Press Secretary, Humwashi Wonosikou, Governor Fintiri emphasized that his administration would not tolerate any attempts to incite citizens to take the law into their own hands.
The governor expressed concern over credible intelligence indicating plans by some youths to break into government and private warehouses in the state.
He urged those with grievances to utilize available channels to address their concerns rather than resorting to acts of sabotage, vowing to uphold law and order in Adamawa state.
