The Action Peoples Party has officially released its timetable for the 2026 primary elections ahead of the 2027 general elections, calling on aspirants and stakeholders in Imo State to begin preparations in line with the party’s guidelines and schedule.
The timetable, approved by the National Working Committee of the party, outlines dates for the conduct of presidential, governorship, National Assembly and State Assembly primaries, as well as procedures for nomination forms and aspirant screening.

In a statement issued by the Imo State Publicity Secretary, Steve Nnadi, the party disclosed that pre-primary activities commenced on May 6, 2026, with the publication of notices for all elective positions.
According to the schedule, the publication of cleared aspirants will take place on May 27, 2026.
The party fixed May 27, 2026, for its Presidential Primary at the national headquarters in Abuja, while governorship and House of Assembly primaries are expected to hold on May 30, 2026, at state and local government secretariats respectively.
The Senate and House of Representatives primaries are slated for May 29, 2026, at senatorial district and federal constituency headquarters.
The APP also announced approved fees for nomination and expression of interest forms for various elective offices.
Presidential aspirants are expected to pay ₦77 million for nomination forms and ₦3 million for expression of interest forms.

Governorship aspirants will pay ₦7 million for nomination and ₦3 million for expression of interest, while senatorial aspirants are to pay ₦3 million for nomination and ₦2 million for expression of interest.
For the House of Representatives, aspirants are expected to pay ₦3 million for nomination and ₦1 million for expression of interest, while House of Assembly aspirants will pay ₦1 million and ₦500,000 respectively.
The party stated that women and persons living with disabilities would receive free nomination forms as part of efforts to encourage inclusiveness and wider participation in the democratic process.
APP leadership further urged all aspirants and stakeholders in Imo State and across the country to strictly comply with the approved guidelines and timetable.
The party reiterated its commitment to conducting transparent, credible and fair primary elections at all levels ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The timetable was endorsed by the National Chairman of the party, Uchenna Nnadi, and the National Secretary, Abu Ibrahim Bossan, at the party’s national secretariat in Abuja.
