APC ends controversies as CECPC approves zoning list

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has finally laid to rest controversies surrounding zoning of offices ahead of the March 26 national convention as the Caretaker Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee, (CECPC) approves the party’s zoning list.

The approved list was contained in a statement Wednesday signed by the Director of Publicity, Na’ Inna Danbatta .

National Chairman of the party is zoned to the North Central while the National Secretary, goes to the South West.

He said the positions were approved at the Tuesday’s meeting of CECPC held at the national secretariat, which was chaired by acting chairman of the party, Abubakar Sani Bello, Governor of Niger State.

The statement says; North Central zone comprising, Benue, Plateau, Kogi, Niger, Nassarawa and Kwara will bear the National Chairman,

National Chairman, National Vice Chairman (North Central), Deputy National Secretary, Deputy National Legal Adviser, Deputy National Publicity Secretary, Zonal Secretary, Zonal Youth Leader, Zonal Organising Secretary, Zonal Women Leader, Zonal Special Leader (Persons with Disabilities-PWD) and National Ex-Officio Member.

South, South zone comprising Akwa Ibom, Bayelsa, Cross River, Delta, Edo and Rivers States will have; National Vice Chairman (South South), National Publicity Secretary

National Women Leader, Deputy National Treasurer, Deputy National Welfare Secretary
Zonal Secretary, Zonal Youth Leader, Zonal Organizing Secretary, Zonal Women Leader,
Zonal Special Leader (Persons with Disabilities – PWD) and National Ex – Officio Member.

South West comprising Ekiti, Lagos, Ogun, Ondo, Osun and Oyo States will have the positions of National Secretary,
National Vice Chairman (South West)
National Youth Leader, National Physically Challenged Leader, Deputy National Auditor
Zonal Secretary, Zonal Youth Leader, Zonal Organising Secretary, Zonal Women Leader
Zonal Special Leader (Persons with Disabilities – PWDs) and National Ex – Officio Member.

The statement also stated that South East, comprising Abia, Anambra, Ebonyi, Enugu and Imo States will take the positions of the

Deputy National Chairman (South), National Vice Chairman (South East), National Treasurer, National Welfare Secretary, Deputy National Organising Secretary, Zonal Secretary
Zonal Youth Leader, Zonal Organising Secretary, Zonal Women Leader, Zonal Special Leader (Persons with Disabilities – PWD) and
National Ex – Officio Member.

For the North East, comprising Adamawa, Bauchi, Borno, Gombe, Taraba and Yobe States, the positions of Deputy National Chairman (North), National Auditor, National Vice Chairman (North East), Deputy National Financial Secretary, Deputy National Women Leader, Zonal Secretary, Zonal Youth Leader,
Zonal Organisig Secretary, Zonal Women Leader, Zonal Special Leader (Persons with Disabilities – PWD) and National Ex – Officio Member goes to the zone.

While the positions of National Vice Chairman (North West), National Legal Adviser, National Organising Secretary, National Financial Secretary, Deputy National Youth Leader, Zonal Secretary, Zonal Youth Leader, Zonal Organising Secretary, Zonal Women Leader, Zonal Special Leader (Persons with Disabilities – PWD) and National Ex-Officio Member goes to the North West, comprising, Jigawa, Kaduna, Kano, Katsina, Kebbi, Sokoto and Zamfara States.

The statement added that zonal representatives of the CECPC wil coordinate the process in each zone.
