When contacted, the state’s police spokesperson, Timfon John urged the public to await an official statement from the family and the police command. “Just wait for an official statement from his family and the command,” Ms. John said, declining to provide further details.

An operative at the police headquarters in Uyo also confirmed the death today, “Yes, it is true,” the officer stated but refrained from sharing additional information, citing the sensitive nature of the situation.
