The people of Akwa Ibom State are in deep mourning following the heartbreaking news of the passing of Her Excellency, Pastor Mrs. Patience Umo Eno, the beloved wife of the state Governor, Pastor Umo Eno. The tragic event occurred on the evening of September 26, 2024, after a brief illness.
In a statement titled “Unexpected Sunset” and signed by the State Commissioner of Information, Comrade Ini Ememobong, the news was made public on Friday morning. The Commissioner expressed the profound sadness felt by the state and revealed that Mrs. Patience Umo Eno passed away peacefully in the presence of her family at the hospital.
“It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of the Wife of the Executive Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Her Excellency, Pastor Mrs. Patience Umo Eno, following an illness,” the statement read.
The Commissioner further stated that the family has submitted to the will of God and is requesting prayers and support from well-wishers during this difficult time. The first family has also asked for privacy as they come to terms with this devastating loss.
