The protest reflects growing dissatisfaction among Itsekiri youths, who insist that their concerns over the delineation exercise must be addressed and that political leaders should engage relevant authorities to seek a resolution.

Itsekiri Youths Visit Political Leaders Over INEC Ward Delineation

During the demonstration, the youths visited the residences of several prominent political figures, including Hon. Griftson Omatsuli, a major political stakeholder in the Warri Kingdom; Chief Solomon Arenyeka, Delta State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC); Hon. Isaac Wilikie, Commissioner for Water Resources; and Chief Ayiri Emami, an APC chieftain and leader of Soft Nigeria for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election.

The protesters also visited an APC ward gathering at Ubeji Grammar School in Warri, where they expressed their dissatisfaction with the development and urged political leaders to take decisive steps to address their concerns.

Omatsuli Promises to Intervene in Ward Delineation Dispute

At his residence, Hon. Griftson Omatsuli addressed the protesting youths, acknowledged their concerns and assured them that he would work with other political leaders to seek a resolution to the controversy.

He appealed to the youths to remain peaceful and continue engaging political stakeholders through dialogue, mutual respect and constructive discussions.

The protesters, however, reiterated their demand for meaningful intervention, stressing that the ward delineation issue was critical to the political future and representation of the Itsekiri people.

Delta APC Chairman Arenyeka Appeals for Calm

Chief Solomon Arenyeka was not at home when the protesters visited his residence. However, he spoke to them over the telephone and appealed for calm and peaceful engagement while efforts were being made to address the matter.

The youths maintained that their visits were intended to draw attention to their grievances and encourage political representatives to take a clear position on the controversy.

Wilikie, Ayiri Emami Unavailable During Protest

Hon. Isaac Wilikie, Delta State Commissioner for Water Resources, was also unavailable when the protesters visited his residence.

Similarly, APC chieftain Ayiri Emami was not at home but reportedly sent representatives to address the youths on his behalf.

The visits formed part of UIY’s effort to engage influential Itsekiri political figures directly and obtain their positions on the INEC ward delineation issue.

UIY Takes Protest to APC Gathering at Ubeji

The demonstration continued to an APC ward gathering at Ubeji Grammar School, Warri, where Hon. Griftson Omatsuli and Omalo were present.

At the gathering, the youths openly expressed their displeasure over the ward delineation information and called on political leaders and other relevant stakeholders to address their concerns urgently.

They argued that the issue should not be ignored, insisting that political leaders had a responsibility to listen to their constituents and work towards a satisfactory resolution.

The protesters also indicated that they would continue visiting political leaders individually to demand explanations and hear their positions on the matter.

‘Enough Is Enough’: Itsekiri Youths Demand Accountability

The central message of the protest was that Itsekiri concerns over the INEC ward delineation exercise must receive serious attention and that political leaders should demonstrate commitment to protecting the political interests of their people.

The youths said their visits were not merely symbolic but represented a direct demand for accountability, consultation and concrete action from leaders capable of engaging the relevant authorities.

They maintained that they would continue to pursue their demands peacefully and through lawful channels until meaningful answers were provided.

UIY Calls for Urgent Action on INEC Ward Delineation

The protest has brought renewed attention to the concerns surrounding the INEC ward delineation exercise in Delta State, with the youths urging political leaders to promote constructive dialogue and responsible engagement.

For Ugbarajo Itsekiri Youths, the demand remains clear: their concerns must be heard, their political interests given serious consideration, and the relevant authorities engaged to address the controversy.

Although the demonstration ended for the day, the group said its campaign for answers and urgent intervention would continue through peaceful and lawful means.
