Indorama Eleme Fertilizer Petrochemicals Limited has denied allegations of perpetrating unhealthy environmental practices leveled against it by a Port Harcourt based non-governmental organization, Pilex Centre for Civic Education Initiative.
In a statement on Saturday signed by the Corporate Communication Head of the organization, Justice Bibiye, the company clarified that as a good corporate citizen of Nigeria, the company has over the years consistently demonstrated its commitment to strict adherence to the laws of the land, and total compliance to judicial processes.
The company stated that the issues raised in the press statement by Pilex Centre have since been put forward before a court of competent jurisdiction following two cases instituted by Pilex Centre and Mr. Josiah Okpabi, who is a former employee of Obewon Limited, a contractor at lndorama.
“That Pllex Centre and Mr.Okpabi are plaintiffs in suit No. NICN/PHC/28/2025-Pilex Centre for Civic Education Initiative & COCC Grade Okpabi Josiah Jonathan VS Obewon Ltd & IEFL filed on May5, 2025 at the National Industrial Court in Port Harcourt, and adjourned to 14th and 15th October, 2025.
