The Kano State Police Command says it has arrested 41 suspects over the brutal killing of a Divisional Police Officer (DPO), CSP Baba Ali, in Rano Local Government Area of the state.
Spokesperson of the command, SP Abdullahi Kiyawa in a statement on Thursday evening, expressed shock and sadness over the incident and said the late Ali died while in active service.
He said following a swift and thorough investigation, a total of 41 suspects have been arrested including identified principal suspects, who upon the completion of investigation would face the wrath of the law.
“The police are working tirelessly to ensure that no stone is left unturned in apprehending all those involved in this dastardly act.

“The command views this senseless killing that has been met with widespread condemnation, as a grave attack on the very fabric of our society and a direct assault on the sacrifices of our brave police officers who risk their lives daily to protect our communities.
“However, the command is resolute in its determination to bring the perpetrators to justice,” he stated.
Kiyawa further quoted the state Commissioner of Police, Ibrahim Bakori, to have assured the public of the command’s commitment to ensuring the safety and security of all lives and property in the state.
While appreciating the public’s understanding, condolences and cooperation, he urged citizens to remain calm and continue to provide the necessary support to the police in its ongoing investigation.
