In an address to mark the second anniversary of his administration, Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, on Wednesday rolled out an ambitious list of 42 road and infrastructure projects set for inauguration, a testament to the impact of his MORE Agenda.

Speaking before a packed hall at the Delta State House of Assembly in Asaba, Governor Oborevwori presented what he described as the first-ever “State of the State” address in Delta’s history, unveiling strategic developments across multiple local government areas. The landmark speech detailed ongoing and completed projects, including the massive 46-kilometre dualisation of the Ughelli–Asaba Road, the Isheagu–Ewulu Road, the iconic Phase I bridge, and significant upgrades in Warri, Sapele, Kwale, Ughelli, and beyond.

Notable among the projects are the reconstruction of key arteries such as the Orhorhor, Chechester, and Benjamin Oseregbaje roads in Sapele; the Warri/Sapele Road through Esisi Road to Estate Roundabout; and the Upper and Lower Erejuwa Roads in Warri. Internal road projects in communities like Kokori, Abraka, Oghara, Owerre Olubor, and Ellu Town are also set for commissioning. Governor Oborevwori further highlighted work on the access roads to the 63 Brigade Headquarters in Ibusa and extensive rehabilitation in places like Kurutie, Ogbinbiri, and Kokodiagbene communities in the Warri axis.

According to him, these projects, which cut across urban and rural landscapes are not only intended to enhance connectivity and improve quality of life but also to catalyze economic growth, attract investments, and promote inclusive development across Delta State. The governor emphasized that signature projects like the three flyovers and three slipways in Warri and Effurun are progressing steadily and are expected to be commissioned in the first quarter of 2026.

Governor Oborevwori’s mid-term report, a cornerstone of his MORE agenda, reflects key values such as servant leadership, transparency, accountability, innovation, and excellence. He recounted that from the onset of his administration on May 29, 2023, his vision was to grow Delta’s economy, uphold fiscal discipline, strengthen civil service efficiency, foster youth and women empowerment, and protect the welfare of the vulnerable.

The impactful report struck a chord with lawmakers, as the Delta State House of Assembly unanimously passed a resounding vote of confidence in the governor. The motion, moved by Deputy Speaker Rt. Hon. Arthur Akpowowo and seconded by Hon. Edafe Emakpor, praised Oborevwori’s sterling performance and prudent management of state resources.

In a separate but related motion, the House commended him for visionary leadership, sound financial stewardship, and a people-first governance model. The motion, championed by the Leader of the House, Hon. Emeka Nwaobi, and seconded by Hon. Ferguson Onwo, highlighted progress in education, healthcare, infrastructure, and youth development.

Speaker of the House, Rt. Hon. Emomotimi Guwor, summed up the legislative sentiment by hailing the governor’s strategic leadership and applauding the visible transformation taking place across the state. He assured the governor of the Assembly’s continued partnership to sustain the momentum of development.
