Borno State Governor, Babagana Zulum has banned the sale of petrol in gas stations throughout Bama Local Government Area, which includes Bama Town and Banki.
This decision comes after discussions with security forces aimed at tackling ongoing security issues in the region.
The governor’s Special Adviser on Media and Strategy, Malam Dauda Iliya, shared this news in a statement on Saturday.
Gov. Zulum emphasized that “the sale of petrol is banned in Bama Town, Banki, and surrounding areas starting now.”

“There will be no exceptions when it comes to enforcing this ban. Security forces have strict orders to take action against any gas station or individual who does not follow this directive. Anyone found responsible will be dealt with appropriately,” the governor said.
Gov. Zulum reinforced his dedication to bringing lasting peace to the state and urged residents to support and work together in the fight against violence and unrest.
His administration has consistently taken steps to cut off supplies to insurgents and limit their movement in areas affected by conflict.
