The Adamawa State Police Command has declared an all-out manhunt for the armed kidnappers who stormed Mayokila Village, Mapeo District, in Jada Local Government Area, abducting four individuals in a brazen midnight attack.
The incident, which occurred at approximately 1:30 a.m. on February 17, sent shockwaves through the community as the assailants fired indiscriminately to create panic before seizing their victims. Among those kidnapped is Abubakar Sadiq Umar, popularly known as Haske, a staff member of Modibbo Adama University Teaching Hospital, Yola.
In an official statement released in Yola, the command’s spokesperson, Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, confirmed that tactical teams had been deployed immediately after a distress call was received at around 3:30 a.m. The Commissioner of Police, Dankombo Morris, ordered reinforcements from the Kojoli Division to track down the criminals and ensure the victims’ safe rescue.

The command reassured residents that officers are working tirelessly around the clock to secure the hostages and bring the perpetrators to justice. Commissioner Morris also urged residents of Jada LGA to remain vigilant and cooperate with security agencies by providing any useful information that could aid in the operation.
As fear grips the affected community, authorities are calling for calm while intensifying efforts to dismantle criminal networks operating in the region. The police have vowed not to rest until the kidnappers are apprehended and prosecuted.
