Plateau State Governor, Caleb Muftwang, has officially declared December as Tourism Month in Plateau State. This initiative aims to spotlight the state’s rich cultural heritage and scenic attractions, positioning Plateau as Nigeria’s premier tourism destination.

In a statement signed by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Samuel M. Jatau, who also serves as the Chairman of the Planning Committee, the declaration sets the stage for an inaugural Christmas Carol and Praise Festival. The festival is expected to feature distinguished guests, including two former Heads of State, General Yakubu Gowon and General  Olusegun Obasanjo, as Special Guests of Honour.

The event, organized in collaboration with the Plateau State chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), will also host other high-profile attendees. Among them are Professor Mary Lar, widow of the late former Governor Solomon Lar, and renowned gospel artist Solomon Lange, who will provide soulful performances to grace the occasion.
