Manchester United center-back Lisandro Martinez expressed deep frustration following the team’s disappointing 2-1 loss to West Ham United on Sunday, marking United’s fourth defeat in just nine Premier League games this season.
The Argentina international, who joined Manchester United in 2022, highlighted missed opportunities in the first half as critical moments in the game. Young talent Alejandro Garnacho hit the crossbar, and West Ham goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski made a crucial diving save against Casemiro, denying United a chance to take control early on.

“We played very well in the first half, but we dropped our level in the second,” Martinez told MUTV. “I hate to lose, and this isn’t the standard we want at Manchester United.”
With only three wins so far, United’s Premier League campaign has them positioned at 14th place with just 11 points, a far cry from the top-table expectations.
“I am so frustrated…we missed so many chances, and it’s difficult to accept, but we have to. We’ll give everything to put this club where it deserves to be,” the 26-year-old added.
Manchester United is set for a busy week ahead, hosting Chelsea on Sunday in the Premier League following a League Cup clash with Leicester City on Wednesday.
