Chelsea forward Romelu Lukaku has finally completed a season-long loan move to Serie A club Inter Milan after he passed medical yesterday.
The Belgian striker, who in the 2021 summer transfer window joined Chelsea at a club-record fee of £97.5m from Inter Milan, struggled in the West London club’s attack to score 15 goals in all competitions last season.
Reports had it that the former Inter Milan striker felt uncomfortable and needed to return to San Siro before the season’s end while making frantic efforts to see it happen.
On one of the occasions, Lukaku on the birthday of Inter boss Simone Inzaghi, inquired if there would be a space for him to return to Nerazzurri according to an Italian report.

Chelsea and Inter had battled over the week to come to terms with the agreement for the 29-year-old Belgian striker with reports insinuating that Chelsea needed about €15m, a price Inter were unwilling to match.
However, with an agreement reached and a deal struck, reportedly about €8m for the former Manchester United striker, Lukaku hopes to return to Stadio Giuseppe Meazza were sealed.
In a video on Inter’s Twitter page, Lukaku said, “I’m back baby.”
According to Chelsea on their website yesterday to announce the deal, stated that the ‘Belgian returns to the Italian side where he previously spent two years and won the Serie A title’.
The club added that the player will spend the entire 2022-2023 season away from Stamford Bridge after competing the deal with the Serie A club Inter Milan.
