From Warri To Malta To Lagos
The Lagos reception marked another chapter in the singer’s elaborate wedding journey with Ella, which has featured several ceremonies in Nigeria and abroad.
The couple’s relationship reportedly dates back to May 2022, with L.A.X proposing to Ella on January 16, 2026, in a romantic outdoor setting decorated with flowers and their initials.
Their wedding celebrations began with traditional family ceremonies in Warri, Delta State, Ella’s hometown, in June 2026. The occasion brought both families together and featured colourful traditional outfits and cultural displays.
The couple subsequently travelled to Malta for their civil wedding on September 16, 2026, at Naxxar, followed by a white wedding celebration at the historic Palazzo Parisio.
Their celebrations continued with a Nikkah ceremony on October 29, featuring Islamic prayers, Qur’an recitation and blessings for the couple.
Sunday’s Lagos reception brought the celebrations to another level, with the attendance of Jonathan, Sanusi and Oba Elegushi placing the occasion among the year’s most talked-about celebrity wedding gatherings.

L.A.X, whose real name is Damilola Afolabi, rose to prominence in the Nigerian music industry after featuring alongside Wizkid on the hit song Caro in 2013.
He has since established himself with songs such as Ginger and PEPE, while also building his Rasaki Music brand.
