Brentford took the lead through Keane Lewis-Potter in the 44th minute, but their hopes of securing a home victory suffered a major setback when midfielder Yehor Yarmoliuk was sent off in first-half stoppage time.
Yarmoliuk received a straight red card in the eighth minute of first-half stoppage time (45+8) for headbutting Liverpool defender Jeremy Jacquet, according to referee John Brooks.
The dismissal gave Liverpool a numerical advantage, although Brentford went into the break with a 1-0 lead.
Muñoz and Isak Complete Comeback
Liverpool returned for the second half determined to turn the game around and eventually found the equaliser in the 62nd minute through Spanish winger Víctor Muñoz.
Muñoz cut inside before firing a left-footed effort past Brentford goalkeeper Caoimhín Kelleher, finishing off a move created by Florian Wirtz’s pass.
Eight minutes later, Alexander Isak completed Liverpool’s comeback with a clinical finish to put the visitors ahead 2-1.
The Swedish striker capitalised on Bradley Barcola’s headed lay-off following Alexis Mac Allister’s cross to score what proved to be the winning goal.
Brentford’s frustration deepened in stoppage time when Vitaly Janelt received a second yellow card in the 92nd minute (90+2) for a foul on Liverpool substitute Rio Ngumoha, leaving the hosts with nine players.
Despite the result, Brentford had put up a strong performance in the opening half, with Lewis-Potter’s header giving them a deserved lead before Yarmoliuk’s dismissal changed the course of the match.

Relief for Iraola, Injury Worries
The result will provide relief for Liverpool head coach Andoni Iraola, whose side struggled to find their rhythm early in the contest but made their numerical advantage count after the break.
Isak’s goal also continued his impressive scoring form away from home. The forward has proved decisive in several of Liverpool’s recent away victories, adding his fifth goal of the season against Brentford.
Liverpool, however, suffered injury concerns during the encounter, with Dominik Szoboszlai appearing to aggravate a hamstring problem in the first half. Jeremie Frimpong also went off just seven minutes after coming on as a substitute at the start of the second half.
For Brentford manager Keith Andrews, Yarmoliuk’s dismissal proved costly after his team had controlled much of the first half and appeared well placed to secure a positive result.
Liverpool ultimately took advantage of their opponents’ disciplinary problems to complete the comeback and leave west London with a valuable three points.
