Retired Borno Principal Recognised for Flood Relief Efforts
Beyond her years in the classroom and school administration, Mustapha was commended for her humanitarian efforts during the September 10, 2024, flood disaster in Borno State.
According to the state government, she ensured that children at the Aliko Dangote Model Orphanage continued to receive food despite disruptions to supply routes caused by the disaster.
Her actions were highlighted as an example of dedication to duty and concern for vulnerable children during an emergency.
The recognition therefore reflects both her career in education and her contribution to the care and welfare of children at the orphanage.
NUT, Principals’ Association Commend Zulum
Representatives of the Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT) and the Association of Nigerian Conference of Principals of Secondary Schools (ANCOPSS) commended Zulum and the education commissioner for recognising Mustapha’s service.
They said acknowledging dedicated teachers and school administrators could encourage other education professionals to remain committed to their responsibilities.
The representatives, however, urged the Borno State Government to address outstanding teachers’ welfare concerns raised during the 32nd World Teachers’ Day celebration on October 5, 2026.
Their appeal highlights the need to complement individual recognition with continued attention to teachers’ working conditions and welfare.
