The inauguration theme, “The Good Work Continues,” reflects the government’s stated commitment to sustaining existing programmes and introducing additional initiatives to improve residents’ welfare.
The administration has also outlined plans to construct up to 1,500 kilometres of rural roads through various interventions, including partnerships with development organisations.
Other priorities include improving agricultural productivity, expanding access to essential services and strengthening economic activities across Ekiti State’s 16 local government areas.

Oyebanji Dissolves State Executive Council Ahead of Inauguration
Ahead of the second-term inauguration, Oyebanji dissolved the State Executive Council on October 12, bringing his first-term cabinet to an end.
However, the Secretary to the State Government, Habibat Adubiaro; Chief of Staff, Niyi Adebayo; and Chief Press Secretary, Yinka Oyebode, were exempted from the dissolution.
The move came as the administration prepared for a new phase of governance, with expectations that ongoing projects would be completed and additional policies introduced to improve public services and economic opportunities.
Expectations for Oyebanji’s Second Term
With Oyebanji now sworn in for another four years, attention will turn to how his administration implements its development plans and responds to the needs of residents.
Key areas to watch include road construction, access to healthcare and electricity, rural development, agricultural growth and job creation.
Residents and stakeholders will be looking for measurable results from the administration’s promises, particularly improvements in infrastructure, public services and living standards across Ekiti State.
