Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Fintiri, has expressed grief over the death of the Chairman of Fufore Local Government Area, Yahaya Saidu, describing his passing on Friday as a painful loss to the state.

The governor said the death of Saidu was a significant loss to the people of Fufore, Adamawa State and the political class, noting that the late council chairman would be remembered for his dedication to public service, commitment to democratic governance and grassroots leadership.
Fintiri’s reaction was contained in a press statement issued on Saturday, October 10, 2026, by his Chief Press Secretary, Humwashi Wonosikou.
‘A Vacuum That Will Be Difficult To Fill’
The governor described the deceased as a dedicated public servant, committed party member and grassroots politician who demonstrated a strong commitment to serving his people and contributing to the development of the state.
According to him, Saidu died at a time when he was beginning to settle into his responsibilities and contribute meaningfully to the development of Fufore Local Government Area.
“He was just settling down to give his best to the development of Fufore at a time when his services were most needed. His death has left a vacuum that will be difficult to fill,” the governor said.
Fintiri also described the late chairman as a humble and diligent leader with a passion for community development, adding that his brief period in office had shown promise of purposeful leadership and commitment to the welfare of his constituents.

The governor extended his condolences to Saidu’s immediate family, the people of Fufore, his friends, political associates and others affected by his death.
“On behalf of my family, the Government and the good people of Adamawa State, I extend my deepest condolences to his immediate family, the people of Fufore Local Government Area, his friends and political associates over this painful loss,” he said.
Fintiri prayed to Almighty Allah to forgive the shortcomings of the deceased and grant him Aljannah Firdaus, while asking God to give his family, the people of Fufore and the entire state the strength to bear the loss.
