Accord Party governorship candidate in Taraba State, Prof. Jerome Nyameh, has called for issue-based politics and improved service delivery, urging political actors to focus on ideas, peaceful engagement and issues affecting the welfare of citizens.
Nyameh made the call in his Independence Day message to the people of Taraba State on Thursday, October 1, 2026, as Nigeria marked its 66th Independence Anniversary.

The Accord candidate said political discussions should focus on practical solutions to the challenges facing communities across the state.
His position is consistent with his previously stated campaign approach, in which he said his campaign would focus on issues rather than personal attacks and emphasise service delivery.
Nyameh Highlights Taraba’s Potential
Nyameh congratulated Tarabans on the 66th Independence Anniversary and described the occasion as an opportunity to reflect on the state’s progress and future.
He said Taraba was endowed with abundant human and natural resources, diverse cultures and hardworking citizens.
According to him, despite the challenges confronting the state, the people continued to maintain hope for a better future.
He said the anniversary should encourage residents to reflect on ways to build a more prosperous and united society.
Call for Peace and Unity
Nyameh urged Tarabans to remain united and committed to the progress of the state.
He said peace and unity were important to the development of communities and called on residents to sustain the values of resilience and cooperation.
He also assured the people that the Accord Party would continue to engage citizens on issues affecting their communities.
Nyameh is the Accord Party’s governorship candidate for Taraba State ahead of the 2027 general election. The party affirmed his candidacy following its governorship primary in May 2026.
