Grok Bot has expanded its workplace capabilities with the introduction of Team Bots, deeper enterprise integrations and stronger coding workflows, as SpaceXAI moves its AI agent product beyond individual users and towards shared workplace tasks.
The latest development follows the September 28 launch of Team Bots, which allows organisations to create AI agents equipped with shared files, applications, expertise and memory so that teams can work with the same AI colleague. SpaceXAI said Team Bots are available in public beta for Teams and Enterprise plans.
Key Highlights
- Grok Bot has expanded from individual AI agents to shared workplace assistants.
- SpaceXAI launched Team Bots in public beta on September 28, 2026.
- Team Bots combine shared context, plugins, credentials and memory.
- Teams can use the Bots inside Slack and connect them to applications including Salesforce, Notion and GitHub.
- SpaceXAI says its engineering Team Bot can work with Notion, Linear, Hex, Datadog and Cursor.
- Grok Bot has been available to enterprise customers since September 3.
- Enterprise administrators have access, network and audit controls for managing Bots.
- Grok 4.7, launched on September 21, was designed for coding and knowledge work and is available in Cursor and Grok Build.
Grok Bot Moves Towards Team-Based AI
Grok Bot was introduced in August as a system of persistent AI teammates capable of carrying out tasks across applications and websites using their own cloud computers.
Unlike a conventional chatbot that primarily responds within a conversation, Grok Bot can be assigned tasks and continue working while the user is away. SpaceXAI says Bots can sign into tools, work across applications and return when a task is complete or requires human approval.
The September updates build on that model by allowing organisations to make individual Bots available to an entire team.
Team Bots Give Employees Shared AI Assistants
SpaceXAI launched Team Bots on September 28, describing them as AI coworkers that can learn from a team’s shared context.
A Team Bot can be configured with relevant files, instructions, skills and applications. It can also use credentials to access third-party APIs and retain memories that help it improve at its assigned role.
The company said individual conversations with a shared Bot remain private, while the Bot’s shared skills and team context can be used by members of the organisation.
Team Bots can also operate in Slack, where each Bot can have its own handle and participate in team channels.
Engineering Teams Can Connect Bots to Coding Tools
SpaceXAI said its engineering Team Bot connects with applications including Notion, Linear, Hex, Datadog and Cursor.
The company said the Bot can follow project discussions, triage bug reports, create tickets and launch Cloud Agents for well-defined fixes.
According to SpaceXAI, the engineering workflow allows the Bot to coordinate work across different tools and agents while reporting progress and blockers to the team through Slack.
This positions Grok Bot less as a replacement for specialist development environments and more as an orchestration layer capable of moving work between people, software tools and other AI agents.

Grok 4.7 Strengthens Coding Capabilities
The broader coding push also includes Grok 4.7, which SpaceXAI introduced on September 21 as its latest model for coding and knowledge work.
SpaceXAI said Grok 4.7 was designed to handle longer and more difficult tasks, improve its ability to verify its work and manage longer contexts.
The model is available in Cursor and Grok Build, as well as through the Grok API and other coding platforms, according to the company.
Grok 4.6 had previously been made available in GitHub Copilot, extending access to SpaceXAI’s coding models within Microsoft’s developer ecosystem.
Grok Bot Already Targets Enterprise Workflows
The move into team-based AI follows SpaceXAI’s September 3 enterprise launch of Grok Bot.
The company said enterprise customers can deploy Bots across organisations while using access, network and audit controls to govern how the agents operate.
SpaceXAI described potential applications across recruitment, marketing, procurement and engineering. Its procurement Bot, for example, was given access to vendor spending, contracts and usage data and was reported by the company to have identified more than $100,000 in direct savings.
Those figures are company-reported results rather than an independent assessment.
Grok Bot Expands Beyond Coding
Grok Bot’s September development has not been limited to software engineering.
SpaceXAI has also demonstrated Bots for sales, customer service, marketing, data analytics and procurement. Its Team Bots announcement said a customer-service Bot could prepare account briefs, while data Bots could answer questions using approved, read-only company data.
The company has also been integrating Grok Bot with X, allowing paid users to connect their X accounts and ask Bots to search posts, read timelines, check mentions and gather information from the platform.
Human Oversight Remains Important
As Grok Bot gains access to more workplace systems, the question is no longer simply how well an AI model can answer questions.
The more significant issue is how organisations control what an autonomous agent can access, change or communicate.
SpaceXAI’s enterprise offering includes access, network and audit controls, while individual Bots only receive access to accounts that users explicitly sign them into.
That becomes particularly important when an AI agent is connected to company data, customer records, communication platforms, software repositories or financial information.
Grok Bot Targets the AI Coworker Market
The September expansion marks another step in SpaceXAI’s effort to position Grok Bot as an always-on AI coworker rather than a conventional chatbot.
With Team Bots, organisations can give multiple employees access to the same AI agent and shared expertise. With coding integrations and models such as Grok 4.7, those agents can also participate in increasingly complex software and knowledge-work workflows.
The broader direction is clear: AI agents are moving from answering individual prompts towards coordinating tasks across people, applications and other AI systems.
