British singer Ed Sheeran has cancelled two concerts scheduled for Friday and Saturday at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts, after severe weather warnings were issued across the region.

Gillette Stadium Shows Cancelled Over Weather
Gillette Stadium said severe weather warnings affecting Boston and other parts of New England prompted the cancellations. The venue said the safety of fans, staff, performers and others involved in the concerts was its priority.
The cancellation notice said refunds were available at the point of purchase and that Ticketmaster purchases would be refunded automatically. The Massachusetts Attorney General’s office had also announced refund access for Ticketmaster customers ahead of the shows.
Cancellation Follows Macklemore Tour Dispute
The cancellations come amid attention surrounding Macklemore’s removal from Sheeran’s US tour after the rapper made pro-Palestinian comments during previous performances, including calls to “Free Palestine” and references to the war in Gaza.
Robert Kraft, owner of Gillette Stadium and the New England Patriots, criticised Macklemore’s comments and said the rapper would not be allowed to perform at the venue.
Sheeran has said the decision to remove Macklemore was made by his promoter rather than by him. The promoter said venue owners, including Kraft, would not have allowed the concerts to proceed if Macklemore had remained on the bill.
Other supporting and backing artists associated with Sheeran’s tour later withdrew in protest, prompting debate over free speech and political expression in music. At his first performance following the controversy, Sheeran acknowledged the difficult decisions surrounding the situation and apologised to fans.
