Legal practitioner and candidate for the Ibi/Wukari Federal Constituency seat in the House of Representatives, TL Agbu, has pledged to pursue justice, fairness and equitable representation for the constituency if elected in 2027.
Agbu made the pledge in the second article of his campaign manifesto, titled “Justice: The Bedrock of Our Common Prosperity,” where he identified justice and fairness as essential to promoting unity and peaceful coexistence among the diverse communities in Ibi/Wukari.

Agbu Promises Equitable Representation
Agbu said democracy, liberty and freedom could only be meaningful when anchored on justice, adding that his legal profession had strengthened his conviction that justice should remain central to the development of society.
According to him, the National Assembly provides an important platform for advocating equitable distribution of federal resources, opportunities and infrastructure.
He said the interests of Ibi/Wukari would be a priority under his proposed representation, describing his legislative agenda as one focused on what he called “restorative justice.” Agbu alleged that the constituency had not received adequate recognition and opportunities in the national scheme of things.
Candidate Seeks More Federal Appointments For Constituents
Agbu pledged to advocate for qualified indigenes of Ibi/Wukari to be considered for national honours and federal appointments, including ministerial and ambassadorial positions.
He recalled that two indigenes of the area had served as ministers, while another served as an ambassador during the administration of former President Goodluck Jonathan, arguing that similar opportunities had not been recorded in the constituency since that period.
The candidate also promised to lobby for increased representation of constituents in the federal public service, boards, parastatals and government agencies.

Agbu Proposes New Local Government Areas
As part of his campaign agenda, Agbu said he would advocate for the revival of Matar Fada as a local government council, noting that it existed in 1983. He also proposed the creation of three additional local government areas between Ibi and Wukari.
However, any such creation would be subject to the constitutional and legal processes governing the establishment of local government areas in Nigeria.
Candidate Lists Proposed Federal Institutions
Agbu also outlined federal institutions he intends to pursue for the constituency if elected. They include the National Agricultural Irrigation Training Centre, Ibi (Dampar); Police Primary and Secondary School, Wukari (Tsokundi); Command Secondary School, Wukari (Kente); Institute of Mining, Technology and Forestry, Akwana; and Federal College of Education, Rafin Kada.
He said the proposed institutions would help address infrastructure gaps, create employment opportunities and strengthen human capital development across Ibi/Wukari.
Agbu Promises Quarterly Town Hall Meetings
Agbu further pledged to institutionalise quarterly town hall meetings across Ibi/Wukari to provide constituents with regular updates on his legislative activities and create opportunities for residents to raise concerns.
He said the meetings would be open to stakeholders regardless of ethnic background, religion or political affiliation.
“Justice for Ibi/Wukari is not negotiable,” he said.
Agbu described his aspiration as a commitment to securing greater equity, representation and opportunities for the people of the constituency.
