Agbu Seeks Answers on Constituency Representation

He raised questions about allocations to Ibi/Wukari since 1999, the salaries and allowances of members of the House of Representatives, projects attracted to the constituency, federal employment opportunities secured for residents and federal institutions established in the area.
He also asked what representation had secured in utility vehicles for traditional rulers and how often elected representatives had engaged constituents to understand their needs.
Agbu Questions ₦700m in Listed Constituency Projects
Agbu called for explanations on three projects he said were listed for the constituency:
- Supply and installation of solar street lights, valued at ₦200 million, under ERGP 20256103.
- Installation of solar-powered boreholes at 10 locations, valued at ₦100 million, under ERGP 20258307.
- Construction of roads, drainages and culverts in Dampar Town, valued at ₦400 million, under ERGP 202596105.
He asked for details about the current status of the projects. The listed amounts and project identifiers are those cited by Agbu in his accountability pledge.
Agbu said that, if elected, he would establish what he called a new standard for probity, transparency and accountability in the representation of Ibi/Wukari Federal Constituency.
Nine Principles for Proposed Representation
Agbu outlined nine principles that he said would guide his proposed tenure: honesty and integrity, reliability, ownership of results, avoiding excuses, proactive problem-solving, openness to feedback, clear communication, humility and self-motivation.
He promised to make information available to constituents, including budgets, expenditures, proposals, bills and engagements undertaken in his capacity as their representative.
He also asked forgiveness from people he may have offended during previous engagements in private and public institutions and political organisations, saying he wanted to begin the proposed political journey without rancour.
Agbu Pledges Unity in Ibi/Wukari
Agbu said he would prioritise reconciliation and unity among the people of Ibi and Wukari, including Jukun and other ethnic groups, as well as Christians, Muslims and traditionalists.
He pledged to take personal responsibility for successes and failures and said he would use his legal experience to address issues affecting the constituency. He said his approach would focus on finding solutions rather than shifting responsibility, and that constituents’ welfare would receive prompt attention.
Agbu also promised open communication with residents and timely responses to their concerns. He described his campaign as “Recalibration 2027,” centred on unity, accountable representation and development.
He urged residents not to exchange their votes for short-term material benefits and called on people in Ibi and Wukari to support his bid for the House of Representatives in 2027.
In an earlier instalment of his blueprint, Agbu pledged to pursue justice and fair representation for Ibi/Wukari.
