JAMB Moves to Address Candidate Concerns Over Name Changes, Profile Issues

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has reaffirmed its commitment to addressing candidate concerns, particularly issues involving name changes, identity verification and profile information that can affect registration and examination processes.

The Board said it is taking steps to better understand and resolve challenges faced by candidates as part of efforts to improve its services and make the admission process more accessible.

JAMB Engages NIMC Over Identity Issues

As part of the effort to address candidates’ concerns, Registrar Prof. Segun Aina held discussions with the National Identity Management Commission on possible areas of collaboration.

The engagement focused on challenges associated with identity verification and the management of candidates’ profile information.

According to the Board, the discussions are aimed at developing practical solutions to problems that affect candidates during JAMB registration and examination processes.

JAMB said better coordination with relevant agencies could help improve the handling of identity and profile-related issues for the millions of candidates who use its services.

Board Reviews Service Delivery

In a related development, the JAMB Registrar also met with one of the Board’s key service providers to review existing processes and identify areas requiring improvement.

The discussions focused on strengthening service delivery and addressing gaps that may affect candidates and other stakeholders.

The Board acknowledged that challenges remain in some areas of its service delivery and said it was focused on finding practical ways to improve the situation.

JAMB Promises Continued Engagement

JAMB said it would continue to listen to candidates and engage relevant stakeholders in addressing issues affecting the registration, examination and admission processes.

The Board’s latest engagements with NIMC and its service provider form part of its efforts to review existing procedures and improve the overall experience of candidates.

The Board also reaffirmed its guiding principle: “The Trust We Hold… is for the People We Serve.”

JAMB said candidate experience would remain an important consideration as it works to improve the integrity, efficiency and accessibility of its services.

Candidates with ongoing profile, name or identity-related issues are advised to follow official JAMB channels for further guidance and updates.
