Nigerian singer Davido has reportedly distanced himself from the growing controversy involving streamer and content creator Carter Efe and Afrobeats star Wizkid, with Carter Efe revealing that the singer personally warned him to stop insulting Wizkid.
Carter Efe made the revelation during a recent livestream, while recounting his interaction with Davido and the singer’s reaction to his repeated comments about Wizkid.
According to Carter Efe, Davido contacted him after people began assuming that he was behind the controversial remarks and using Carter Efe to take shots at his longtime rival, Wizkid.
Carter Efe claimed that Davido made it clear that he has nothing to do with his comments and warned him against repeating them.
“Davido messaged me and told me that I shouldn’t try it in my life again to insult Wizkid again, because people have started thinking he is the one sending me, meanwhile he doesn’t know anything about it,” he said.
Carter Efe then praised Davido, asking: “Which person go fit get good heart like that?”
