Former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Yves Bissouma has completed a move to Dutch giants Ajax on a deal initially running until the end of the 2026 season.
The 30-year-old defensive midfielder became a free agent after his Tottenham contract expired following his release by the Premier League club in June.
Bissouma’s agreement with Ajax runs until the end of the season, with an option included for an additional 12 months.
Ajax technical director Jordi Cruyff said the club had been in discussions with the Mali international since August.
“We have brought in an experienced player who knows what it takes to perform at the highest level. He is capable of playing in several positions, and we hope he will be available for selection as soon as possible,” Cruyff said on the club’s website.
Bissouma joined Tottenham in 2022 after completing a high-profile transfer from Brighton and went on to make 111 appearances for the north London side.

His time at Spurs, however, was not without disciplinary issues.
In August 2025, then-Tottenham manager Thomas Frank omitted him from the squad for the UEFA Super Cup clash against Paris Saint-Germain because of persistent lateness.
The midfielder made 11 appearances for Tottenham during his final season, all in the Premier League, as the club finished 17th for the second consecutive campaign.
Bissouma now begins a new chapter in the Netherlands with Ajax, having left Tottenham as a free agent.
