Activist Verydarkman has taken a sarcastic swipe at Benue State youths after a crowd chased presidential candidate, Peter Obi away during his campaign visit to the state.
Verydarkman in a video posted on his official X page, said he was actually “very happy” when he watched the viral footage, joking that the youths have finally demonstrated that they could mobilise in large numbers to confront people.
But his sarcasm quickly took a darker turn as he suggested that the same energy could be deployed against bandits terrorising the state.
“I was very happy that Peter Obi was chased away. At least now we know that they can come out in numbers to chase people out. So tomorrow when bandits attack, we get squad wey sabi chase people,” he said.
The activist, however, said he was ultimately disappointed by what he saw, questioning why youths who have experienced insecurity could mobilise such a large crowd for a political confrontation.
According to him, the incident showed how easily young people could be turned into political tools.

“I saw that thing and I was really, really disappointed in Benue State youths. That crowd that came out, it was heartbreaking,” Verydarkman said.
He added that he deliberately stayed silent when the video first surfaced because the situation was too disappointing for him to comment on immediately.
“After all they’ve gone through, they still let themselves be used as political tools. That’s why I didn’t bother myself to speak because it is heartbreaking,” he said.
Meanwhile, singer Davido has also reacted to the controversy after reposting the video of Peter Obi being confronted by the youths on Instagram.
Verydarkman’s sarcastic remarks have now added another layer to the controversy, with social media users debating whether the Benue youths’ ability to mobilise should be celebrated, condemned or, as the activist suggested, put to a very different use.
