Nigerians have reacted with outrage following the arrest of a 36-year-old Nigerian woman, Anulike Nwokike, popularly known as Freaky Goddess, over alleged child abuse in videos circulating online.

Key Highlights:

  • Nigerian woman Anulike Nwokike was arrested over alleged child-abuse videos.
  • Police rescued four children from her Onitsha residence.
  • Nwokike and her husband reportedly claimed the videos were AI-generated.
  • Nigerians have demanded protection for the children and a full investigation.
  • Police investigations are ongoing to establish what happened.

The Anambra State Police Command said Nwokike was arrested on September 10 after the videos went viral. Also, the police said four children, aged two, three, six and nine, were rescued from her residence in Onitsha, while sex toys were recovered from the home.

Nwokike and her husband reportedly claimed that the videos were AI-generated. Police said investigations were ongoing, including efforts to determine whether there were other victims and whether other people were involved.

The development has generated strong reactions on X, with some Nigerians calling for the children to be protected and the allegations thoroughly investigated.

Reacting to the videos, @Savvyrinu said, “I was just traumatized by the video of a Nigerian woman who was performing obscene rape acts on a child for social media monetization.

“It is the most cruel thing I’ve ever come across visually to be done to a child. This demon must be separated from those kids and sentenced.”

@IamSalex wrote, “if this is true, she needs to be removed from those children immediately and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. no excuse, no content creation, no monetization, nothing that can justify abusing a child. Some lines should never be crossed, and this is beyond disgusting.”

@Yesobsmcy also reacted , writing, “Please, create a solitary confinement for this physciophatic disorder, devil incarnate beast, and take the key to the middle of the ocean with eyes close and drop it.”

Meanwhile, @Chiby_yrn questioned whether the alleged abuse may have occurred over an extended period. “The damage has been done already that child is gone because there’s one of the videos where the seven years old girl was no longer feeling pains from the dildo again I think this has been going on for a long time before the videos leaked,” the user wrote.

The case also sparked a debate over gender and the way allegations of sexual abuse are discussed online.

@EbukaKingsleyN1 wrote: “This is insane. What’s wrong with people these days? Seeing more kids abused by women, would it be fair to generalize that children are not safe around women? That’s how the ugly feminists would have pinned it on all men if the reverse were the case.

“We are fighting perverts and sexual predators regardless of gender. Criminals are found in both genders, and we should focus on the issue, not gender.

“Call out whoever commits a crime and stop generalizing the act to other innocent people of the same gender, religion, or ethnicity.”

The police investigation is ongoing as authorities work to establish the circumstances surrounding the videos and determine whether any offences were committed.
