Everton have reportedly reached an agreement to bring England winger Jack Grealish back to Goodison Park on a season-long loan from Manchester City.
The 30-year-old is expected to undergo a medical before the transfer deadline, with the Toffees working to complete the move before the close of the window on Tuesday.
Grealish previously spent a significant part of last season at Everton on loan, scoring two goals and registering six assists in 20 appearances before a foot injury in January brought his campaign to an early end.
Despite attracting interest from other clubs, including his former side Aston Villa, the England international is understood to have preferred a return to Everton.
The club’s chief executive, Angus Kinnear, had earlier indicated that Everton remained in contact with the player as they explored the possibility of bringing him back.
Everton are looking to strengthen their attacking options, particularly with winger Iliman Ndiaye reportedly close to completing a £65 million move to Manchester City.
The Merseyside club are also said to be progressing in negotiations for Monaco and United States forward Folarin Balogun, with reports suggesting a deal worth around £40 million is being discussed.
However, Everton’s attempt to bring Brazilian forward Richarlison back from Tottenham Hotspur has reportedly encountered difficulties over personal terms.
Grealish joined Manchester City from Aston Villa for £100 million in August 2021 and has enjoyed considerable success during his time at the Etihad Stadium, winning three Premier League titles, the UEFA Champions League and the FA Cup.

He has made two appearances for Manchester City this season, featuring as a substitute in the Community Shield defeat to Arsenal and in the Premier League victory over Bournemouth. He was not involved in City’s 4-1 win over Crystal Palace on Friday.
Meanwhile, Everton defender Nathan Patterson could also be heading for a move before the transfer window closes, with Italian Serie A club Torino reportedly in talks with the Toffees over the Scotland international.
Discussions between the two clubs are ongoing, although it remains unclear whether Patterson would leave on loan or in a permanent transfer.
Everton will return to Premier League action on Sunday when they host Manchester United.
