The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has charged the Falconets to maintain their winning momentum when they face Korea Republic in their final warm-up match ahead of the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup.
Acting General Secretary of the NFF, Emmanuel Ikpeme, gave the charge following the Falconets’ victory over hosts Poland in a friendly encounter.
Mary Mamudu’s goal in first-half stoppage time handed the two-time FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup runners-up victory at the Municipal Stadium in Brzeg.
The Falconets will now take on Korea Republic at the Remes Sports Leisure and Spa Stadium on Tuesday, September 1, as they conclude their preparations for the global competition.
Ikpeme commended the players for their performance against Poland and urged them to approach the encounter against the Asian side with the same determination.
He said another victory would further strengthen the team’s confidence and reinforce the winning mentality required to confront the challenges ahead at the World Cup.
Nigeria will compete in Group F alongside Spain, China PR and New Caledonia.
The Falconets will begin their campaign against Spain on September 7 before facing China PR on September 10 and New Caledonia on September 13.

Meanwhile, Nigeria’s Golden Eaglets have continued their preparations for the WAFU-B U17 Championship with a convincing 4-0 victory over Simonben Academy in Abuja.
The five-time world champions dominated the friendly match at the FIFA Goal Project pitch inside the MKO Abiola National Stadium.
The Eaglets took a narrow lead into the break despite creating several scoring opportunities.
