Adlinco Construction Company, the firm handling the reconstruction of the collapsed Namnai Bridge in Gassol Local Government Area of Taraba State, has denied reports circulating on social media that it has abandoned the project.
The company, through its Group Managing Director, Engineer Ahmad Ismail, described the reports as false and unfounded, assuring residents that construction work was progressing and would be completed within the stipulated 12-month timeframe.

Ismail stated this on Friday in Jalingo while reacting to the reports, stressing that the company remained committed to completing the bridge reconstruction as scheduled.
According to him, several beams for the bridge had already been constructed, while additional beams were at the project camp awaiting installation.
He urged individuals spreading what he described as unfounded reports to desist, warning that such claims could create unnecessary concern among residents and other members of the public.
“We are not politicians; we are contractors here to deliver the project. No amount of blackmail will stop us from doing our work,” he said.
Namnai Bridge to Be Completed Within 12 Months
The project manager also assured residents that the reconstructed Namnai Bridge would be completed within 12 months.
He said the ongoing rainy season would not stop construction activities, explaining that work was currently focused on the production and installation of precast components and bridge beams.
According to him, those activities could continue despite the prevailing weather conditions.

The Namnai Bridge, which links communities and facilitates movement within the area, collapsed earlier, disrupting transportation and economic activities.
The collapse prompted the Federal Government to commence reconstruction of the strategic bridge, which is important to movement and commerce in the affected communities.
Adlinco Construction Company has now assured residents that work will continue until the project is completed and the bridge is restored to full use.
