The Ondo State Ministry of Education, Science and Technology has announced the cut-off marks for admission into public Junior Secondary Schools across the state for the 2026/2027 academic session.

The ministry disclosed this in a statement issued on Tuesday and signed by its Press Officer, Bisi Lawani.

According to the statement, the approved cut-off marks were determined based on candidates’ performance in the state’s admission assessment, which was scored out of a total of 300 marks.

The ministry said the assessment is a requirement for admission into public secondary schools across Ondo State and is intended to ensure that qualified candidates are admitted.

Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Prof. Igbekele Ajibefun, who chaired the meeting where the cut-off marks were approved, commended the conduct of the assessment.

Ajibefun said the examination was conducted smoothly without any major incident, while the prompt release of the results reflected the ministry’s efforts to maintain an efficient admission process.

He said the development further demonstrated the ministry’s commitment to ensuring transparency in the admission exercise.

Permanent Secretary of the ministry, Akindele Ige, said the assessment is designed to promote merit and ensure that admission opportunities are given to qualified candidates.

He said the process is aimed at rewarding hard work while providing eligible students with access to quality secondary education in the state.

Following the conclusion of the assessment, principals of public secondary schools have been directed to begin admitting candidates who meet or exceed the approved cut-off marks.

The ministry also directed zonal and area education offices to coordinate the admission exercise within their respective local government areas.

Parents and guardians were advised to seek accurate information and guidance on the admission process from the relevant education offices or the primary schools attended by their children.

They were also urged to comply with all admission guidelines issued by the ministry.
