Ozokwor made the revelation during a livestreamed interview with content creator Carter Efe, where she reflected on her decades-long acting career and her reputation for playing antagonistic roles.
The actress stressed that although she frequently portrays evil characters on screen, she personally dislikes injustice, war and conflict.
“I think God gave me that niche. I hate every ill because I don’t like injustice, war and rancour. When you give me those roles, I try to bring everything into them,” she said.
According to her, she deliberately gives her villainous characters depth so that audiences can understand the consequences of wrongdoing and appreciate the importance of living a good life.
She explained that her performances are not intended to promote evil but rather to teach moral lessons.
“If you are taking part in any of them, you have to be careful and know the end thereof, for the end justifies the means,” she said.

Ozokwor added that viewers should pay attention to the consequences faced by characters who live wickedly, as well as the rewards associated with doing good.
“Know what will happen to you if you live a terrible life, and know what you will gain if you are a good person,” she added.
Born in Enugu State, Ozokwor has enjoyed a career spanning several decades and has become one of Nollywood’s most recognisable faces, particularly for her memorable portrayals of stern mothers, wicked mothers-in-law and other antagonistic characters.
Her performances have earned her several accolades, including the Africa Movie Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress in 2012 and 2013.
She was also among the 100 Nigerians honoured by the Federal Government in 2014 to mark the centenary of the amalgamation of the Northern and Southern Protectorates.
In 2023, she received a Merit Award at the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards.
Despite being widely associated with villainous roles, Ozokwor’s latest comments highlight the distinction between the characters she portrays on screen and her personal values.
