FIFA has dismissed reports claiming its President, Gianni Infantino, promised Morocco the right to host the 2030 FIFA World Cup final, insisting that no decision has been made on the venue for the tournament’s biggest match.

The world football governing body issued the clarification following widespread speculation that Infantino had privately assured Morocco of hosting the final as part of efforts to strengthen support for his leadership.
In a statement released on Wednesday, FIFA categorically rejected the reports, stressing that no commitment had been made regarding the venue for the final.
“It is false and misleading to claim the FIFA President has made any promise in relation to hosting the FIFA World Cup 2030 Final.
“A decision will be made by FIFA in due course,” the statement said.

The clarification marks FIFA’s first official response to growing claims that Morocco had already secured the right to host the final of the historic centenary edition of the FIFA World Cup.
The 2030 tournament will be jointly hosted by Morocco, Spain and Portugal, with Spain also pushing to stage the championship’s showpiece match.
Meanwhile, the Portuguese Football Federation declined to comment when approached over the reports.
