The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has advised Nigerians and foreign nationals to use only its official online platforms for passport and visa applications, warning that it has not authorised any religious organisation, private entity, or individual to collect payments on its behalf.

The advisory was contained in a statement issued by the Service on Wednesday, via its official social media platforms.
According to the NIS, the only approved platform for passport applications and payments by Nigerians, both at home and abroad, is the official NIS Passport Portal ( https://passport.immigration.gov.ng ).
For foreign nationals seeking entry into Nigeria, the Service stated that applications for visas through embassies should be submitted via the official Visa Portal ( https://visa.immigration.gov.ng ), while electronic visa applications should be made through the official e-Visa Portal ( https://evisa.immigration.gov.ng ?).

The service emphasized that it has not entered into any partnership with religious bodies, private organisations, or individuals to act as intermediaries or receive payments on its behalf.
“At no time has the service partnered with or authorised any religious organisation, private entity or individual to act as intermediary or receiving account on its behalf,” the statement said.
The NIS urged applicants seeking clarification or assistance regarding passport and visa applications to contact its verified communication channels.
It identified its official X accounts as @nigimmigration and @InquireAtNaija, while its verified Facebook and Instagram handles remain @nigimmigration. The Service also provided WhatsApp support lines: 09160878000 and 09117717772.
Reaffirming its commitment to transparency and secure service delivery, the Nigeria Immigration Service advised members of the public to avoid dealing with unauthorised agents and to verify all immigration-related information through its official channels.
