Nigeria remains the only African country to have qualified for every edition of the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup since the tournament was introduced in 2002.
The Falconets have twice finished as runners-up, in 2010 and 2014, while reaching the semi-finals in 2012. At the 2024 tournament in Colombia, they advanced to the Round of 16 after opening with a victory over Korea Republic before exiting against Japan.
Drawn in Group F alongside Spain, China PR and Paraguay, the Falconets will be aiming to improve on their proud history and challenge for a first-ever FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup title.
