Infantino confirmed the development on Tuesday during an appearance on Fox and Friends, saying the pair would take part in the post-match trophy presentation.
“We will be together with the president enjoying the final and handing the trophy to the winner, of course, together,” the FIFA president said.
The announcement underscores the close relationship that has developed between Infantino and Trump in recent years. During the FIFA World Cup draw held in Washington last year, Infantino presented the U.S. president with a newly created FIFA Peace Prize.

The decision for Trump and Infantino to jointly present the World Cup trophy follows the controversy that surrounded last year’s Club World Cup final in New Jersey.
On that occasion, Trump handed the trophy to Chelsea captain Reece James after Chelsea F.C. defeated Paris Saint-Germain F.C.. However, the U.S. president remained on the podium and joined the team’s celebrations, a moment that drew widespread attention as several Chelsea players appeared surprised by his presence.
The 2026 FIFA World Cup final is scheduled to take place in New Jersey on July 19, with millions of football fans expected to watch the tournament’s showpiece event around the world.
