The storyline follows Bahu Mehra, the son of a wealthy Indian family who returns home after travelling abroad. While his family expects him to bring back gifts and foreign experiences, they are shocked when he arrives with Zara Ogun, a Nigerian woman played by Ighodaro.
Zara, portrayed as a confident multimillionaire fashion entrepreneur, faces resistance from Bahu’s family as they struggle to accept their son’s relationship with someone from a different cultural background.
Imported Bahu is scheduled to premiere on July 2, 2026, on LebaraPlay, a micro-drama streaming platform.
The project adds to Ahuja’s history of promoting Nollywood-Bollywood collaborations, following previous productions such as Namaste Wahala and Postcards.
For Ighodaro, the role represents another step in expanding her career beyond Nigeria, strengthening her profile in international film and television.
