The Adamawa State Police Command has recorded another breakthrough in its ongoing crackdown on Shilla gangsterism and other violent crimes, leading to the arrest of three key suspects in separate operations across Yola metropolis.

Police authorities disclosed that police officers attached to the Doubeli Divisional Police headquarters arrested a 22-year-old suspect, Abdulmalik Mohammed, following an alleged attack on a passenger aboard a commercial tricycle, along the Doubeli Bye-Pass on June 12.
According to the police, Mohammed, a resident of the Zango area, allegedly attacked the victim with a cutlass and robbed him of his mobile phone.
The suspect was reportedly apprehended by members of the public after the victim raised an alarm.
Police officers swiftly intervened and rescued the suspect from an attempted mob action before taking him into custody for investigation.
Preliminary findings by investigators reportedly linked Mohammed to a series of thefts within Yola metropolis, including the theft of a sewing machine at Tsohon Kasuwa.
The command said efforts are underway to identify and apprehend other individuals connected to the suspect’s alleged criminal activities.
In a separate operation on June 14, police operatives conducting confidence-building patrols arrested two suspected members of a Shilla gang, identified as Abba Abdullahi, and Abdulrahman Saidu.
The suspects were allegedly found in possession of dangerous knives believed to have been intended for use in criminal activities during a birthday celebration.
Commenting on the arrests, Adamawa State Commissioner of Police, Kabir Hassan, commended the officers involved for their swift response and professionalism.
