The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has announced Ovwreghederohwo Richard, popularly known as Aduvie, as the winner of the Ughelli North Constituency II seat for the 2027 Delta State House of Assembly election.

Aduvie clinched the ticket after polling an overwhelming 3,142 votes in the party’s primary election, a result party members described as a clear demonstration of his popularity and grassroots support across the constituency.

The electoral committee that conducted the exercise said the primary was peaceful, transparent, and in line with the party’s established guidelines, adding that the outcome reflected the wishes of delegates.

Speaking after his victory, the ADC candidate thanked delegates and party faithful for their support, promising to justify the confidence reposed in him, promising to focus on development, youth empowerment, and quality representation if elected.

He called on fellow aspirants and party stakeholders to put aside differences arising from the contest and work together to strengthen the ADC ahead of the general elections.

According to Aduvie, the outcome of the primary underscores the growing acceptance of the ADC among voters in the constituency and signals the party’s readiness to challenge for political power in the area.

He expressed confidence that the ADC would perform strongly in the 2027 elections and urged residents of Delta State to support the party’s candidates at all levels.

Political observers say Aduvie’s emergence has injected fresh momentum into the race for Ughelli North Constituency II, with attention now shifting to how political parties position themselves ahead of the crucial 2027 polls.
