The mission featured a series of bilateral business meetings between companies from Dubai and Ethiopia, providing opportunities for investors and business leaders to explore partnerships in sectors such as automotive, engineering, construction, electronics, oil and gas, food and beverages, mining, pharmaceuticals, printing, and textiles.

The chamber also hosted the “Dubai–Ethiopia Business Connect” forum in collaboration with the Embassy of the United Arab Emirates in Ethiopia, the Ethiopian Chamber of Commerce and Sectoral Associations, the Addis Ababa Chamber of Commerce and Sectoral Associations, and the Ethiopian Investment Commission.

Speaking during the forum, Mohammad Ali Rashed Lootah reaffirmed Dubai’s commitment to strengthening economic cooperation with Ethiopia and creating new opportunities for private sector collaboration.

According to him, the trade mission supports the international expansion of Dubai-based businesses while enhancing non-oil foreign trade between both economies.

Lootah said the initiative would also help Ethiopian businesses leverage Dubai’s position as a global commercial hub to access regional and international markets.

Senior government officials, diplomats, investors, and business executives from both countries participated in the forum, which focused on investment opportunities, market access, and long-term commercial cooperation.

During the event, representatives of the Dubai Chamber presented the emirate’s business-friendly environment and incentives available to Ethiopian investors, while officials from the Ethiopian Investment Commission highlighted the country’s growing investment opportunities and market potential.

Trade relations between both sides have witnessed significant growth in recent years. According to official figures released during the mission, Ethiopia’s non-oil trade with Dubai reached AED 22.3 billion in 2025, representing a 236.6 per cent increase year-on-year.

The chamber also disclosed that 91 new Ethiopian companies joined the Dubai Chamber in the first quarter of 2026, bringing the total number of active Ethiopian member companies to 1,676.

Industry analysts say the growing commercial ties between Dubai and Ethiopia reflect increasing investor confidence in East Africa’s economic potential and Dubai’s strategic role as a gateway for international trade and investment.

The trade mission is expected to strengthen investment flows, improve market access for businesses in both countries, and accelerate economic cooperation across multiple sectors.
