Abdulaziz Ganduje, son of former APC National Chairman and ex-Kano governor Abdullahi Ganduje, has joined the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Abdulaziz, who is said to be part of the Kwankwasiyya movement loyal to former Kano governor Musa Rabiu Kwankwaso, has also obtained the party’s nomination form to contest for the Dawakin Tofa/Tofa/Rimin Gado Federal Constituency seat.
A viral video showed him introducing himself to Kwankwaso while declaring his interest in running for the House of Representatives position.

The seat is currently occupied by Tijjani Jobe, who was elected under the NNPP before defecting to the APC earlier this year. Jobe has already secured the APC ticket for the 2027 election.
The development has drawn attention because of the long-standing political rivalry between Kwankwaso and Abdullahi Ganduje, who were once close allies before their relationship collapsed after Ganduje succeeded Kwankwaso as governor in 2015.
