Celebrity businessman and nightlife promoter, Cubana Chief Priest has denied participating in the All Progressives Congress (APC) primary for the Orsu/Orlu/Oru East Federal Constituency seat in Imo State.
The socialite, whose real name is Pascal Okechukwu, said he voluntarily stepped away from the contest after discussions with Imo State Governor,bHope Uzodimma over the party’s zoning arrangement.

In a series of Instagram posts shared on Sunday, Cubana Chief Priest insisted that he neither attended the primary venue nor took part in the voting process.
According to him, APC leaders informed him that it was not yet the turn of his local government area to produce the House of Representatives candidate for the constituency, a decision he said he respected completely.
“I never went for any primary election,” he stated, maintaining that he honoured the party’s internal understanding and stayed away from the exercise entirely.
His latest clarification appears to contradict an earlier viral video in which he seemed disappointed after allegedly securing only 14 votes in the APC primary election.
Reacting to the backlash and speculation that followed, the celebrity businessman dismissed claims that he had been politically abandoned or left indebted to supporters because of the failed ambition.

He explained that his political aspiration was a personal decision aimed at creating awareness and inspiring participation among young people in his constituency.
Cubana Chief Priest added that he has no regrets over his involvement in the political process and remains fully committed to the ruling APC.
The socialite also reaffirmed his support for President Bola Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general elections, pledging to continue mobilising support through his “City Boy Movement.”
His comments have continued to generate reactions online, especially following widespread discussions surrounding the APC primary in Imo State.
