Tukur explained that the move follows a request from the management of the university, seeking a dedicated clinical training facility for medical students within the state, instead of sending them outside Adamawa State for practical exposure.

He said Gov. Fintiri approved the proposal, noting that the conversion would strengthen medical education and improve healthcare delivery across the state.

Vice Chancellor of Adamawa State University, Prof. Augustine Clement, said the committee would work alongside the commissioner for health and human services to finalise modalities for the smooth take-off of the teaching hospital.

He described the approval as evidence of the governor’s commitment to advancing healthcare delivery and education in Adamawa State.
